Join our team
Like all hospice programs, Tidelands relies every day on the support of enthusiastic, carefully-trained volunteers. They are men and women of all ages, cultural backgrounds, interests and abilities with a shared desire to help others. These compassionate, hard working individuals assist our staff and provide valuable additional services for our patients and families.
Our Volunteers
Volunteer opportunities are as varied as the individual needs of our patients and their families. Patient care, spiritual care and bereavement volunteers work closely with members of our interdisciplinary teams. They are a vital link between the staff and the patients and families they care for, and they play key roles in implementing our patients'' unique plans of care.
Office volunteers help staff file and maintain important records, as well as acknowledge the memorial gifts that help sustain Tidelands. Other volunteers serve on the board of directors, various committees, and/or provide valuable training for our staff, patients and families.
Special event and fundraising volunteers help plan and implement our annual memorial services, butterfly release, Good Mourning Day Camp, Festival of Trees and other support-generating activities. Volunteers help increase community awareness and thus strengthen our patient care programs and bereavement support services.
