Giving Opportunities

Grateful families and friends of our patients often ask about opportunities to contribute to the strength and reach of our programs. These are a few of the options available:

Memorial Gifts

A memorial gift to Tidelands Community Hospice is a meaningful way to honor the memory of a special friend or family member. Often families will specify “memorials may be made to Tidelands Community Hospice” in obituaries as a way of honoring their loved one at the time of death. Many people also choose to make memorial contributions to Tidelands Hospice as a way to commemorate the birthday or anniversary of a loved one each year.

Honorary Gifts

A gift “in honor of” provides the opportunity to express your love and appreciation for a living family member, friend, or other individual, while also supporting Tidelands Community Hospice. This type of contribution is also a meaningful way to recognize someone’s birthday or anniversary.

When a memorial or honorary gift is made to Tidelands, we will send you a receipt for your gift, and the family or individual designated will receive an acknowledgement notifying them of the donation you have made. Your gift is tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

Donations can be made by check (download a PDF of our giving form) or credit card (via the easy-to-use and identity-safe Just Give organization). When a gift is made via Just Give, Tidelands will additionally acknowledge the gift.

In-Kind Gifts

Tidelands maintains a “Wish List” of items that individuals, church, civic, and school organizations can donate to Tidelands Hospice. These donations can help improve the care we provide to our patients and families, help our staff and volunteers do their jobs more effectively, and reduce organization expenses.

Gifts of Time

In addition to financial support, Tidelands is always looking for volunteers to help strengthen our programs. The talents and skills of volunteers greatly benefit our patients, their families and our overall mission of caring for all terminally ill patients regardless of reimbursement source. Visit this site’s volunteer links to learn how you can help through your donation of time.

Planned Giving

Planned giving is the way to meet your financial goals while also supporting the care and services provided by Tidelands Community Hospice. There are many ways to blend philanthropy with your financial and tax needs. People often ask how they can contribute to Tidelands to assist not only in the present but also for long term benefits. Please call the Tidelands office, speak with your tax advisor or an estate planning attorney to learn more about how you can support Tidelands through planned giving.
