– Dame Cicely Saunders
Founder of modern-day hospice movement

Your donation is powerful!
Your charitable donation helps us provide care, beyond the traditional hospice role, for our patients and families and helps those in our community who are grieving find comfort and healing.
Tidelands Community Hospice Foundation uses donations to support the services provided by Tidelands Community Hospice. Because we are not-for-profit, we provide care for ALL in need of hospice. Regardless of financial status or life situation, NO one in need of hospice is turned away. Providing care, beyond the traditional hospice role, includes filling in the “gaps” NOT covered by Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance. We provide aid with basic daily necessities, certain supplies and help in situations that go beyond daily needs.
We are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, donations are tax deductible. Because we are locally based and governed, DONATIONS go to work at once to meet the needs of those we serve and remain in the community.

Types of Gifts
Memorial Gifts
Memorial gifts are a meaningful way to honor the memory of a loved one or friend and to benefit patients and families.
When a memorial donation is made, the family is sent an acknowledgment letter notifying them of the donation (the amount is not disclosed), and each donor receives a thank you letter.
Some wish to assisted Tidelands Community Hospice in providing care by requesting that “In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Tidelands Community Hospice.” If that is your wish, please use the following language in the obituary:

Care, Comfort & Hope Annual Fund
Donations to the Care, Comfort & Hope Annual Fund assist with Charity Care, Patient Partners, and Special Projects.
Charity Care provides hospice care, medications, medical supplies and equipment to all patients in need.
Patient Partners and Special Programs aid patients and families with items NOT covered under Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance-basic daily necessities, certain supplies and aid in situations beyond daily needs.
Bereavement Support Groups, Good Mourning Program for children and adolescents and Celebrations of Remembrance are also included.
Tribute Gifts
A Tribute Gift is an excellent way to honor someone for a variety of personal and/or professional reasons. Birthdays, anniversaries, a thank you for a kind deed or a job well done are a few examples.
Some choose to honor to pay tribute to Tidelands Community Hospice’s team collectively or individually with a donation made in honor of the care the patient and family received. The honoree receives a letter notifying them of the donation and the donor is sent a thank you.
Monthly Partner or Yearly Pledge
Monthly donors make a huge impact in the lives of our patients and families. Contact Barriedel Llorens, Foundation Director, to become one of Tidelands Community Hospice’s sustainable donors.
You can make a difference by making a yearly pledge. It is up to you how you would like your pledge to be set up.
Gifts of Stock and Property
Tidelands Community Hospice Foundation also welcomes gifts of appreciated stock or securities, gifts of real estate or personal property, and gifts-in-kind.
